The Tour de Appalachia is America’s “Grand Tour” of the oldest mountain range on planet Earth!
The Tour is effectively a year-round summer camp for adults. And as with any great camp, all entertainment, food/drink, lodging, and transportation are included and prearranged.
The only difference is the accompanying world-class food and wine!

THE MISSION:
Our primary goal is to take our guests on a once in a lifetime adventure-tour that showcases the type of Appalachian culture that’s only existent in a place as rich and vibrant as the Smokies.
Core Experience
-At its core, the Tour de Appalachia is a partnership between three family farms.
Little Starts Urban Farm- Asheville, NC
Rabbit Skin Farm- Waynesville, NC
Falcon Adventures Forest Farm- Waterville, NC
While each of the farms are relatively close to one another as the bird flies, they each highlight a unique and fascinating corner of the southernmost portion of the Appalachian Mountain Range.

TRANSPORATION:
An epic tour calls for an epic ride. Tour Appalachia in style in our very own vintage Vee Dub, the Wander Wagon!
LODGING AND BASE ITINERARY:
Intake will occur in Asheville at Little Starts Urban Farm. Guests’ schedules will be left open on the day of their arrival. The following morning the tour will begin early in the Wander Wagon and bring passengers over the mountain and into Haywood County where they’ll glamp safari-style among cattle at Rabbit Skin Farm.
From there, guests will stretch their legs on their own self-guided adventure from the top of the world, down and through historic Cataloochee Valley .
Upon arrival to the valley, they’ll be greeted by the elk.
From here the adventures will rendezvous once again with the Wander Wagon and make their way to Falcon Adventures Forestry Farm where the party will be waiting for them. After a night in a warm bed, they’ll head back to Little Starts Urban Farm where they’ll experience the thrill of southern Appalachia’s biggest little town, Asheville!

While we hope that anyone who’s made it to this site will someday take the Tour de Appalachia, we also realize a piecemeal approach might make more sense for some folks. Like a healthy ecosystem in the wild, or like the collaborative approach that the countless breweries in WNC take… We also work inside what SHOULD be a healthy tourism economy. With this in mind, we choose to collaborate and lift-up other local tourism businesses that share our values.
